Zamboni Nation's Round 2 Predictions

This has the makeup to be an absolute dynamite series with tons of
offense. Ovechkin, Semin, Backstrom, Green, Stamkos, StLouis,
Lecavalier, Gagne - hell that's an all-world team right there. I'd
love it if Boudreau & Boucher would unleash the hounds but sadly I
don't think that's gonna happen. Something I've not heard much mention
of is how the Bolts overcame a 3-1 deficit which usually is a huge
deal. It was obviously overshadowed by the monster series from the
west. Again the caps are finding their way but the Bolts have a great
mix of vets, youth, scorers & grinders. Rollie showed in game 7
against the Pens that he still has what it takes to win.

Great matchup & rematch from last year. Does anyone actually think
that the Flyers respect this Bruin team? This is the same team that
had a choke job for the ages last year and can't fond their PP this
post season. Chara & Lucic have the potential to make this series
interesting but did absolutely nothing last round. Pronger is the
straw that stirs Philly's koolaid and he's back playing which is a
huge boost for them. The worst thing about the Bruins - they don't
deserve to be in round 2. Like the scarecrow in the wizard of Oz,
they got no heart.

Poised for a letdown in game 1, the Canucks better move on from their
monumental win over the Hawks in a hurry. In Nashville you've a team
that plays very disciplined hockey from the goalie out. Shea Weber &
Ryan Suter are arguably the best defensive pairing in the league, but
when Sergei Kostitsyn is your leading scorer,it's obvious that they
just don't have the horses to keep up with Hank, Dank and the rest of
the Canucks offense. Vancouver has all the confidence in the world
after finally dispatching their nemesis from Chicago. They'll overcome
a slow start to the series & send Smashville looking for tee times.

Prolly the toughest series to call in this round. Perennially
pretender vs Legitimate contender. I was wrong to dismiss the Wings
last round but now with Zetterberg in tow, they're going to be that
much tougher to beat. The sharks are thin on D but have a very deep
forward group. When you have Thornton, Marleau & Pavelski as your top
3 centers you should be able to match up with anyone. I think the
Sharks have learned from past failures and much like Detroit in the
90's you gotta take your lumps before you break into the next level.
