Don't Blink...

Or you just might miss the second round of these NHL playoffs. It's hard to believe after so many tightly contested series in the opening round that this round would be the complete opposite.. It's feasible that this round can go just one game over the minimum which is just insane when you think about it. Vancouver-Nashville being the only series so far where both teams have won at least a game. After Tampa broke out the brooms last night - San Jose & Boston hope to do the same. If it keeps up - I wonder about the possibility of seeing the Cup awarded before the calendar turns to June. Wouldn't that be something?

I guess the Lightning don't care much for reality TV having beated both teams from the 24-7 HBO series in consecutive rounds. Coming back from a 3-1 series lead to knock off Pittsburgh was something - but walking over the Capitals like they did is quite shocking. The Capitals have a lot of soul searching to do - and there could be alot of shakeup coming. I expect Bourdreau is gonna get the boot. Unlike Tampa coach Guy Boucher who's studied sports psychology extensivly, Coach B's motivational tactics amount to repeated servings of "C'mon guys, get yer f*cking asses outta yer heads." I see that getting stale real fast.

Where did Yzerman find find this Bergenheim kid? 7 goals in 11 playoffs games after scoring 14 this regular season? Impressive. Yzerman certainly has the touch - everything he's done in the past 2 years has turned to gold (pun intended).

While listening to the fan590 on my way home from work yesterday, the upcoming Memorial Cup was being talked about & Bob McCown threw out what I thought to be a pretty wicked idea. Instead of the 3 winners & host team playing a round robin then elimination tournament, why not invite EVERY major junior from the Western, Ontario, & Quebec leagues? Have them play single elimination tournament similar to NCAA's march madness? Sure the logistics would be a littel crazy to figure out - but that'd be all kinds of awesome! Where do I sign up?

One game tonight - Will the golden Nashville sea help the preds tonight? Tough to see that as Kesler looks like he's woken up & that bodes well for Canucks fans. It's Kesler & not Hank/Dank that drives Vancouver's bus.

Enjoy tonights action.
