It's GO TIME!!!

Hey Cup Fans.. It's time for another post season of Zamboni Nation fun. Those that are new here, welcome! Those that are returning - I'm so glad you returned. A huge thanks to you all.

Some housekeeping items - participation is down this year and I'm solely responsible for that. Somehow I still manage to convince myself that I have spare time that doesn't exist - you'd think I'd know by now that life happens while trying to plan hockey pool zen.

We're around the 60-65 entry mark which is pretty good considering I sent the annoucement only 36 hours before the puck dropped last night. If past experiences are any indication, I rarely get all entries correct on my first audit so I suggest you all review your teams. If you see something you disagree with, let me know. Ideally it'd be nice to eliminate the spreadsheets but I believe some people rely on them & I get alot of manual entries that I need to input myself.

To those of you that has made financial arrangments, thank you. Those that still need to do so can reach out to me by email (pd@zambonination.com).

I didn't see much hockey last night - was dealing with my little ankle biter till 9ish then settled into sorting out entries for the site. I wanted you guys to see the standings first thing today which is an improvement over previous years where I'd have to make you guys wait until the first weekend to get your first look at them. Mission accomplished.

5 games, 2 Shutouts and an OT victory is a nice start to the post season. 4 of 5 home teams held serve last night - the lone exception being Anaheim. Anahiem must be very careful in this series. Corey Perry needs to be the Rockey Richard winner he was this regular season - not the self destructive player that costs the team. How bout Mike Fisher's post season debut - methinks Music City is gonna like the gritty playoff style Mr.Underwood brings.

Martin St Louis - what a player. Offensive dynamo & hard nose player. Last night he had a double root canal after the game & still has more damage to his mouth. He's still playing Friday night. Playoffs - gotta love it.

Caught the end of the Vancouver-Chicago game. That series is gonna be awesome. Chicago may be a different team but Toews ain't gonna let that team roll over. I wonder if he'll use Vancouver's new Playoff Theme as motivation for his teammates in game 2.

Better late than never, my first round predicitons are now up - have a read & use the comment form to share your thoughts. Think I'm wrong - call me on it.

Cheers everyone!
