Joe Thornton - OT Hero

Joe Thornton scored in OT last night to end the Kings season. I'm not joking - Thornton had the winner. With that, Thornton now has 2 game winners in 6 games. For a player with such a high offensive pedigree, it's downright shocking to learn that prior to this playoff, he has 5 game winners in 91 career playoff games. Is Thornton finally proving he has what it takes in the post-season? Sharks fans sure hope so.

Some good hockey reading if you're interested. Elliot Friedman's latest 30 thoughts column had a very relevant quote about tonights Nucks-Hawks game. "The Canucks aren't facing the eighth seed any more. They're facing the Stanley Cup champs." Awesome.

With 3 very important games tonight, I thought I'd solicit some opinions & have added some quick polls for today's update. Please visit the site & answer the basic question of who you think will win each game. I'm very curious to see where everyone stands. For the record I'm going Boston, Philly, Chicago. Yep - no Canadian team victories.

Email updates will be little less frequent this week. Stats will continue to be updated daily but no time to write & email my ramblings (thankfully some of you may say). Things are busy for me workwise thanks to our upcoming federal election. I'm not going to preach about who to vote for as this isn't the appropriate forum, but I will say this - people are dying for the right to vote half a world away & too many of us take it for granted.

If you're eligible, make sure you get yer ass to the polls on May 2.

Let the game 7's begin!
